“Human flourishing is the epic marker on your work, investing in the ups and downs.” -Royal Alley-Barnes, CoCA Seattle
Combining Art & Education Since 2012
I love teaching. Encaustic painting is such an old art form and being able to share that with my students is joyful and fulfilling.
I started in 2012, offering Wax and Wine workshops in the Walla Walla Valley, and teaching through the Quest program at WWCC.
Returning to Seattle in 2014, I continued to teach in Walla Walla, until 2018, when Fogue Studios and Gallery opened and I moved into Studio 1A to work and teach.
The Studio
Located in Georgetown, south of downtown Seattle, Fogue Studios and Gallery is unique. Artists are over 50, working in many diverse mediums. Georgetown is full of amazing artists, galleries and great places to eat.
My Mission
I’m fulfilling a lifelong dream of being a working artist. I was lucky to have several very creative careers: working in visual merchandising and owning my own floral studio and antique shop. Those detours were essential to me being who I am today.
I am a salvage artist. My style, my aesthetic, is much like a historian or archaeologist, to preserve what I unearth. I love the ancient, I swoon over beautiful penmanship. My work explores my love for this antique ephemera, the beauty and the decay, working to merge together elements that are centuries apart to create a new history.
